MAY IS DAHLIA GARDEN CLUB MONTH

Welcome to our Town of Bennett Spring Clean-Up,

All month long, we are sponsoring a town road-side clean-up. We plan to make this an annual Dahlia Club event.

We are asking you to use these garbage bags to clean up the sides of the road on either side of your home. Or, if you are a walker, the road sides where you walk.

If you can separate the recyclables it is much appreciated but not required. Bring the bags to the Town of Bennett Recycling (“The Dump”) during regular hours on Wednesday’s (2-8) and Saturdays (8-2).

Please exercise your usual care while collecting road-side debris. Watch for vehicles. Wear gloves. Use reachers or similar to grab garbage. Wear bright clothing or a safety vest if you have one. Don’t pick up anything suspicious, “gooey”, or too large to carry by hand.

Free collection bags will be available ALL MONTH. We will celebrate our spruced up town on Saturday, May 27th with our annual Dahlia Club Bake Sale from 8 AM to 2 PM.

Recycling Tips and Tidbits

security-warningRecycle Hours:
8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturdays
2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesdays

The recycle center is located just off of Karras Road Adjacent to the Fire Hall and Town Hall.

We accept Bagged Garbage as well as Recyclables: Paper, Cardboard (must be flattened), Cans, Bottles, Plastics (#1 & #2) Juice Cartons, etc.

We can now accept plastics #1-7. The exceptions are styrofoam and flimsy plastic (ie: bread bags, plastic grocery bags, etc.).

Styrofoam of all types are placed in the compactor. No recycling yet.

Plastic bags can be placed in the bag Recycling bins at the entrance of the Superior Walmart on Tower and at Super One entrances. I also collect clean bags at the dump and deliver them to Walmart rather than put them in garbage.
